The Microsoft / Yahoo Deal that was just reached shall be interesting for all.

Bing !

I recall many years ago when Google first launched.   Many people said that they are crazy.   There is no way that a new search engine can compete.  It had not been too many years before that when Infoseek had a huge market share.

While many acquisitions and agreements over the years have lead to a demise of the properties, this is one agreement that will probably work.
Personally, I was turned off of Overture and Yahoo advertising system as I had to jump through hoops to give them money.   So the majority of my search engine advertising dollars went to adwords at Google.  They were the ones to make it easy.  That is why they have succeeded.

I am a huge Google fan.   I use the majority of their tools on a regular basis.  Why?  Because it is convenient.

Prior to the recent launch of Bing, I have not been impressed with any other platform.  I have always been able to find what I needed with Google.
Bing shows promise.   Yahoo utilizing this platform may be a very good thing for them.   If Microsoft and Bing make things convenient, easy and good, then

Google will have good competition.   However, I also believe that Google will continue to step up to the plate and provide tools that are of excellent quality.

From an SEO standpoint, we must all pay attention.  There will be more rules to follow.   Tomorrow will not be like today.

The properties that listen to the people and give them what they want will prevail.

If you are reading this, then you also like social media.    Chances are that you have found this one way or the other as I spend a lot of time through the different social media outlets.

Many years ago, there were private blogs (we did not call them blogs then).   Then things started happening.   People wanted to share things.   People wanted to read things that others wanted to share.

THAT was the start of this crazy social media frenzy they we all face today.

I have to say though….I love it!

It caught me off guard when reading about Zappos being acquired by Amazon.

The CEO of Zappos explained that they will continue to run as they have been.   They have been pretty impressive over the years.  (They are here in Las Vegas).

I think it was a good move on both of their parts.   Hopefully all jobs there will stay secure.

It was pretty neat today to go into 7-11

Everyone received a free Slurpee on 7/11 ( July 11 )

I had completely forgotten about this until I went inside.  It surprised me that it was not very busy.

As I open my eyes around me I realized that since Independence Day is happening on Saturday that many people are streching their weekend to 3-5 day weekend.   Ok, I admit I am a little jealous (I have a lot of work to do), but I am happy for those who can.

Everyone make it a safe 4th of July!  Be nice!
